About FireSafe

FPAS-accredited fire safety assessors specialising in Annual Fire Safety Statements across Western Sydney. We inspect, certify and lodge — so building owners stay compliant without the headache.

FireSafe is a Western Sydney-based fire safety inspection and certification company specialising in Annual Fire Safety Statements (AFSS) and routine maintenance under AS 1851-2012. We operate from Chipping Norton, NSW, giving us fast access to every council area across Western Sydney — from Parramatta to Penrith, Blacktown to Canterbury-Bankstown.

We're not a massive call-centre operation. When you contact FireSafe, you deal directly with qualified fire safety professionals who know your building, understand your Fire Safety Schedule, and take personal accountability for the compliance documentation we produce.

David Sayes — Principal Fire Safety Assessor

David is the founder and principal assessor at FireSafe. He holds the following industry-recognised credentials:

FPAS Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety) — Accreditation No. F022816A, issued through the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPAA). This accreditation is the mandatory qualification required under NSW legislation to assess and endorse Annual Fire Safety Statements.

C2FPIT Certified — Certificate in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, confirming competency in the hands-on inspection and testing of fire protection systems and equipment across all major EFSMs.

Diploma of Fire Systems Design — A comprehensive qualification covering the design, specification and assessment of fire detection, suppression and passive fire protection systems. This gives David the technical depth to assess complex fire safety measures that go beyond routine maintenance — including engineered solutions and alternative performance requirements.

David personally conducts AFSS assessments, reviews defect reports, and oversees the preparation of every fire safety statement issued by FireSafe. His accreditation can be independently verified on the FPAS public register.

Our Team

FireSafe's inspection team includes qualified technicians experienced in the testing and maintenance of all essential fire safety measures under AS 1851-2012. Our team members hold current competencies across portable fire equipment servicing, fire hydrant and hose reel testing, emergency and exit lighting inspection under AS 2293, fire door assessment under AS 1905, and smoke detection system testing.

Every inspection is conducted under the direct oversight of an FPAS-accredited assessor, ensuring that the final AFSS documentation meets the standard required by Council and Fire & Rescue NSW.

How we work

We keep things simple. When you engage FireSafe for your Annual Fire Safety Statement, here's what happens:

We review your Fire Safety Schedule and scope the inspection before we arrive on site. Our team inspects and tests every essential fire safety measure listed on the schedule. If defects are found, we provide a clear defect report with photos, descriptions and recommended rectification actions. Once defects are cleared, we issue a draft AFSS within 48 hours. We provide you with a step-by-step council lodgement guide so you can submit on time — or we can lodge on your behalf.

No hidden fees. No surprise reinspection charges. No chasing us for paperwork.

FireSafe was built on a simple idea — building owners in Western Sydney deserve a local, qualified fire safety provider who picks up the phone, turns up on time, and delivers council-ready documentation without the runaround.

What sets us apart isn't just our accreditation — it's the fact that the person assessing your building is the same person standing behind the statement.
